The estate known as Sweetwater Ridge was originally part of the larger Belford Pastoral Company, the site of early wine growing experiments in NSW as early as 1844. During construction of the prestigious "Sweetwater Ridge Estate" in 1998, remnants of these early vines were found. Shiraz, Cabernet, and Verdelho vines were planted on the 100 acre premier lot which was retained by the Hardie family. Edwardjames have been designing the wine label artwork for Sweetwater Wines since the first vintage over 5 years ago. Sweetwater Wines are all produced by a multi award winning winemaker, including winemaker of the year in 2008, Andrew Thomas.
